TEACHING PROGRAMME

Dear friends of the Dhargyey Buddhist Centre,

 

Due to the stage 4 covid-19 alert and directions the Dhargyey Buddhist Centre will be closed for the next 4- 8 weeks during this self isolation period.

Please look after yourselves and others during this time.

གང་ཕྱིར་བརྩེ་ཉིད་རྒྱལ་བའི་ལོ་ཐོག་ཕུན་ཚོགས་འདིའི། །

Love is the seed of this abundant harvest of buddhahood.

ས་བོན་དང་ནི་སྤེལ་ལ་ཆུར་འདྲ་ཡུན་རིང་དུ། །

It is like the water which causes growth and expansion,

ལོངས་སྤྱོད་གནས་ལ་སྨིན་པ་ལྟ་བུར་འདོད་གྱུར་པ། །

And it ripens into the state of lasting enjoyment,

དེ་ཕྱིར་བདག་གིས་ཐོག་མར་སྙིང་རྗེ་བསྟོད་པར་བགྱི། །

Therefore at the outset I shall praise compassion!

Regular Teachings for 2020 will recommence as soon as possible and practicable and safe . Below is our usual programme for your information. in the meantime please look after yourselves and be kind to each other.

SUNDAYS  11am-12:30pm

Sunday classes taught by Geshe-la provide a general overview of the Buddhist world view, alongside meditation instruction and Q&A sessions. 

 

THURSDAYS 7:30-9:00pm

Geshe-la is teaching the 37 practices of the Bodhisattva. Teachings include an explanation of the short text, meditation instruction and Q&A sessions. 

                                                         INTRODUCTION TO BUDDHISM COURSE

We run two courses of beginner's classes each year, each of 12 weeks duration, called "Introduction to Buddhism" on mainly Monday nights (subject to change due to other events at the centre such as Tsog). These courses require registration due to limited numbers per course and are advertised on our Facebook page with registration through Eventbrite.

Buddhist practice focuses on the perfection of generosity – one of six primary virtues – so we have structured the Centre to promote this virtue. There is no charge for the teachings and they are open to the public.
